The Guardians beat the Reds 10-3 in the series wrap up in Cleveland as heard yesterday on WRBI. The Reds lose two out of three games in the series. Cleveland hit six home runs off Cincinnati pitching, including two off the bat of Kyle Manzardo. Brady Singer gave up five runs and seven hits while striking out six and walking one in four innings and took the loss. His record dips to 2-4. Elly De La Cruz homered and doubled and extended his hitting streak to 10 games. The Reds road trip continues with the first of three tonight in Philadelphia against the Phillies. Nick Lodolo gets the start for the Reds. He’s 0-1 with an 8.68 earned run average. The Phillies counter with righthander Andrew Painter, who is 1-4 with a 6.21 ERA. Coverage begins at 6:10 on 103.9 FM.

The Reds made a series of roster moves before Sunday’s game. Catcher Jose Trevino was placed on the 10-day injured list with a left hamstring injury. The team promoted from Triple-A Louisville catcher P.J. Higgins; designated for assignment outfielder Rece Hinds; optioned to Louisville pitcher Luis Mey, and recalled righthanded reliever Jose Franco from Triple-A.

Defending champ Alex Palou will be on the pole for next Sunday’s 110th running of the Indianapolis 500. Palou captured the pole with a four-lap average of 232.248 mph. It’s Palou’s second career Indy 500 pole. He’ll try to become the seventh driver to win back-to-back Indy 500s. Joining Palou on the front row for Sunday’s race is Alexander Rossi and David Malukas.

Meanwhile, INDYCAR Officiating announced after Sunday’s session that A.J. Foyt Enterprises and Dreyer & Reinbold Racing had their qualifying results disallowed following the discovery of illegal modifications to energy management system components on both cars. Caio Collet, driving the No. 4 for Foyt, and Jack Harvey, piloting the No. 24 for DRR, will now start from the back of the field.

The Indiana Fever calmed the Seattle Storm 89-78 in WNBA action last evening in Indianapolis. Caitlin Clark set a new league record with her 11th 20-point, 10 assist game. She tossed in 21 points and dished out 10 assists to lead the Fever. Kelsey Mitchell and Sophie Cunningham both added 17 points. Indiana squares its record at 2-2 with the win. The Fever’s homestand continues Wednesday night against Portland.
