(Versailles, IN) – Indiana State Police held an awards and recognition ceremony in Indianapolis on Tuesday, April 21, to publicly honor the achievements and accomplishments that all too often go without the proper recognition.
Law enforcement officers were recognized for their dedication, service, bravery, and devotion to the department and the citizens of Indiana.
Trooper Mark Naylor was recognized as the 2025 Trooper of District for the Versailles Post.
This award is given annually to a trooper in each district who personifies integrity, professionalism, and a well-rounded work ethic.
Trp. Naylor was selected by his command staff for his dedication, traffic and criminal enforcement, community involvement, and other services performed for the department beyond normal expectations.
In 2025, Trp. Naylor made 182 criminal arrests plus 25 arrests for operating while intoxicated. In addition, he made nearly 800 traffic stops and investigated 12 crashes. Trp. Naylor also served as a Field Training Officer for rookie troopers.
The agency says he excelled in working criminal investigations and was an asset in assisting other troopers and officers from other agencies in his patrol area.
Trp. Naylor is a two-year State Police veteran.
He is a 2008 graduate of Jennings County High School in North Vernon.
After high school, he attended Indiana University where he graduated in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice.
While at IU, Naylor participated in the Indiana University Police Department Cadet Program, serving as an IUPD Officer until graduation.
He then served with the Jennings County Sheriff’s Office from 2013-2015 and the Greensburg Police Department from 2015 until he was accepted into the ISP Academy in 2024.
“Trooper Naylor is deserving of receiving the 2025 Trooper of the District Award for the Versailles Post due to his work ethic and dedication to the mission of the Indiana State Police,” said Versailles Post Commander Lt. Paul Adams. “He is committed to making our roads and communities safer and we are grateful for his service.”
