(Ripley County, IN) – There’s something electric about a ticking clock—and in Ripley County, that energy is about to spark a full-on creative surge.
The Ripley County 48-Hour Filmmakers Challenge returns April 24–26, inviting storytellers, dreamers, and doers from everywhere to step up and make a movie – in just two days.
It all begins Friday, April 24 at the Batesville Memorial Public Library, where participants will gather for the official kickoff. That’s when the mystery begins—teams will draw surprise elements that must be included in their films. From there, the clock starts ticking.
Filmmakers will have just 48 hours to write, shoot, and edit a three to seven minute film. It’s fast. It’s intense. And it’s one of the most rewarding creative challenges around.
No experience? No team? That’s not a barrier—it’s part of the magic. Whether you’re a writer, actor, videographer, editor, musician, or simply someone with a story to tell, this challenge is designed to bring people together. Come solo, and you’ll find collaborators. Bring a crew, and you’ll leave with something unforgettable.
Beyond the thrill of creation, there’s a bigger stage waiting. Completed films will be showcased during the Ripley County Film Fest, June 2–6, where participants will see their work on the big
screen and compete for awards—including top honors and specialty categories.
But here’s the catch: registration must be completed before April 24, and the countdown is already on.
If you’ve been waiting for a sign to finally create something bold, this is it.
Sign up through the Ripley County Tourism Facebook page or secure your spot now: https://forms.gle/QNik2idNjoGsU15q6.
Stop waiting. Start filming.
