Nathan Alan Blunt, born June 23, 1976, returned to his Heavenly home on January 28, 2026. Nathan was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Alan and Sherry Blunt. He was the oldest of their four children and was a wonderful big brother to his sisters, Jen (Nate), Amanda (Bill), and Larissa, and his brother Dallan. He held so many wonderful memories in his heart of the camping trips and family vacations they enjoyed together. Growing up, he developed an incredible imagination that grew into a love of creating and writing stories as well as an affinity for games, which blossomed in his later years. He was a champion swimmer in High School and also excelled in his studies.
At 19, Nathan answered the Lord’s call to serve a mission. For two years, he labored in the Barcelona, Spain Mission. Through many unique and beautiful experiences, his testimony grew and became the driving force in his life. He accepted callings in the church gladly and fulfilled them with his whole heart. He knew his Savior and lived his life with gratitude and humility, regardless of the trials he faced.
His children were his everything. Sonnet (Alex), Atticus, Willow, and Daggan gave him purpose and meaning. His great joy was spending time with them, playing board games, camping, creating Minecraft worlds, and watching movies. He had them help with projects around the house, creating spaces for each child with their favorite colors and decorations. Being a dad was his proudest accomplishment.
Nathan received his degree in Education from Indiana University. He taught high school Spanish for over a decade. He loved his students and found a passion for teaching. He used his love of games to create fun ways for his students to learn.
He married the love of his life, Amber Eldredge, in the Salt Lake Temple on March 21, 2015. She brought light and peace into his life, and he worked tirelessly to build a home for her and his children. Through thick and thin, their kindred spirits found solace in each other. They strengthened each other. They loved each other. That love will continue on into eternity.
Nathan was a creator and player of games. He was an author. He was a builder and a craftsman. He was a teacher. He is our husband, our father, our son, our brother. He is loved and missed, but we know, as he did, that we will be together again with our Father in Heaven. We, with Nathan, express our love and gratitude to all who have reached out to give comfort, and also to those who have shown their love and support over the years. We have truly been blessed.
A memorial service will be held at 7:00 pm on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 422 N. Township Line Rd., Batesville, IN 47006.
