(Southeastern IN) – With the Back-to-School season in full swing, those big yellow buses have returned to area roads.
Indiana State Police remind you of the importance of watching for stopped school buses while they are picking up and dropping off students.
You also need to know school bus laws, and when to stop.
Two-Lane Roads
If a school bus stops on a two-lane road and the red flashing lights are activated and the stop arm is extended, all motorists must stop.
Multi-Lane Roads with No Barrier between Lanes
When a school bus stops on a multi-lane roadway without a barrier and the red flashing lights are activated and the stop arm is extended, all motorists must stop.
Multi-Lane Roads with a Grassy and/or Concrete Barrier
When a school bus stops and the red flashing lights are activated and the stop arm is extended, only vehicles behind the bus must stop.
Vehicles approaching from the opposite side are not required to stop.

August 4 – Greensburg and Jac-Cen-Del.
August 5 – Decatur County, Franklin County, South Dearborn, South Ripley and Sunman-Dearborn.
August 10 – Milan.
August 11 – Batesville grades 1,2,4,5,7,8,10,11 and 12.
August 12- Batesville Pre-K, Kindergarten, grades 3,6, and 9.
August 13- Batesville All students.
