(Lawrenceburg, IN) – An Aurora business owner has been convicted and sentenced in Dearborn County on a Battery (Class B misdemeanor) charge.
Aymen M. Migdadi, the owner of the Road Dog gas station and convenience store, was convicted following a jury trial on Thursday, July 30.
Dearborn County Prosecutor Lynn Deddens says the case arose after a 17 -year-old girl stopped at the Road Dog seeking help putting air in a tire.
Deddens says the state proved that Migdadi hugged the victim, grabbed her buttocks, grabbed her hips, and ground his pelvis against hers.
In addition to Battery, Migdadi was originally charged with Sexual Battery (Level 6 felony).
Following the verdict, Dearborn Superior Court II Judge Sally McLaughlin ordered Migdadi to be held in the Dearborn County Law Enforcement Center.
On Friday, July 31, he was sentenced to the maximum penalty for a Class B misdemeanor, which is 180 days in jail.
“This young woman entered a local business asking for help and had every right to expect that she would be treated with respect,” Dedden said. “Her courage in coming forward, cooperating with law enforcement, and testifying before a jury ensured that the defendant was held accountable.”
Deddens thanked the Aurora Police Department for its investigation.
The case was tried by Dearborn County Deputy Prosecutors Amanda Johnson and Brendan Jones.
