
(Greensburg, IN) – A two-vehicle crash involving a semi-truck and a passenger car sent two people to the hospital Thursday morning on Interstate 74 in Decatur County.
According to authorities, the Decatur County Communications Center received reports of the crash at approximately 11 a.m. on Jan. 30, near the eastbound lanes of I-74 just east of the 132-mile marker.
Initial information indicates an eastbound semi-truck driven by 45-year-old Brinson N. Prioleau of Fairfield, Ohio, collided with a passenger vehicle driven by 72-year-old Rebecca A. Reynolds of Indianapolis as the car was preparing to merge onto I-74 from the eastbound on-ramp.
Following the impact, the semi-truck overturned along the side of the roadway near the eastbound on-ramp at the 132-mile marker.
First responders made contact with both drivers at the scene. Reynolds was transported to Decatur County Memorial Hospital for treatment. Prioleau was trapped inside the overturned semi and was extricated by the Greensburg Fire Department before being transported by Stat Flight air medical services to another hospital for further treatment.
The Greensburg Police Department acknowledged and thanked the multiple agencies that assisted with the response, including the Decatur County Communications Center, Greensburg Fire Department, Decatur County EMS, Decatur County Sheriff’s Department, Indiana Department of Transportation, and TDS Wrecker Service.
No additional details were immediately released.
