(Statewide) – FEMA has approved over $4 million in federal grants to help Indiana recover from last year’s severe storms, tornadoes and floods.
Decatur County will share $444,000 with Warrick and Vanderburg counties to be used for critical road repairs.
The state experienced one of its worst single-day tornado outbreaks in April 2025, with over 20 twisters hitting Indiana.
Governor Mike Braun expressed gratitude for the support, and FEMA is reimbursing costs at a 75 percent federal share through its public assistance program.
“Hoosiers were severely impacted by these devastating storms,” said Governor Braun. “This funding will make a major difference by reimbursing communities for all the work they’ve done to repair roads, restore power services, and rebuild critical infrastructure since the storms hit last spring.”
To date, more than $12 million has been provided to the state for road repair, debris removal, critical infrastructure repair and more from this disaster.
