South Ripley outgunned Milan 82-78 in boys basketball heard last night on the Sports Voice. Drew Volz led the Raiders with 24 points; teammate Eli Gilpin was right behind with 23; Dylan Jessee added 14 and Blake Gunter had 11 points. The Indians’ Micah Norman tossed in a game-high 26 points; Ethan Clark added 21; Gabe Riehle chipped in 19 points and Grant Langferman contributed 12. Ripley improves to 12-4 overall and 3-0 in the ORVC; The Tribe falls to 5-6 and 0-1Elsewhere, Batesville defeated Franklin County 66-54; Brownstown Central tripped Greensburg 80-51; Morristown squeezed past North Decatur 36-34; it was Trinity Lutheran 66, Oldenburg Academy 42, and South Decatur beat Shawe Memorial 42-32.

In girls hoops, Class 1A #6 Triton Central beat 1A #7 Oldenburg Academy 63-53.

The Indiana Pacers’ held off the defending NBA champion Oklahoma City Thunder 117-114 as heard last night on the Sports Voice. Andrew Nembhard led Indiana with 27 points and 11 assists. Jarace Walker added a career-high 26 points for the Pacers. Reigning league MVP Shae Gilgeous-Alexander poured in a game-high 47 for the Thunder. The Pacers wrap up the road trip Monday night in Atlanta.

Tipoff for the Batesville vs. Connersville boys basketball game at the Dawg Pound has been moved up to this afternoon because of the weather. Coverage begins around 12:15 on 103.9 FM and the WRBI App.

Pairings for the IHSAA Girls Basketball Tournament will be announced tomorrow evening. Coverage on WRBI through the IHSAA Champions Radio Network tips off at 6 p.m. Sunday.

Indiana University quarterback, Heisman Trophy winner and national champion Fernando Mendoza announced on social media on Friday that he is declaring for the 2026 NFL Draft. Mendoza is projected to be the #1 overall pick. His declaration comes days after  the IU Hoosiers beat Miami of Florida for the College Football Playoff national championship.

The FBI is investigating the death of Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay. The Washington Post is reporting the bureau is investigating a recovery doctor in California who is accused of prescribing painkillers and ketamine to Irsay before he died. The publication says this doctor was treating Irsay when he passed away last May at the age of 65.

The NFL Conference Championships will be played tomorrow afternoon and evening. New England is at Denver in the AFC title game; the Los Angeles Rams visit Seattle for the NFC crown.
