The Indiana Pacers tip off the 2025-26 regular season tonight at home against the Oklahoma City Thunder in a rematch of the NBA Finals.  The Pacers will raise a championship banner in Gainbridge Fieldhouse, honoring their Eastern Conference championship last season. After that, Obi Toppin says it’s right to business as they hope to upend the team that beat them in last year’s Finals.  Coverage begins at 7 p.m. on the Sports Voice.

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase has been named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in last week’s 33-31 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers. Chase set a Bengals single-game record with 16 receptions for 161 yards and one touchdown to help lead Cincinnati to a divisional victory on Thursday Night Football. Chase was also voted FedEx Air Player of the Week. As voted on by the fans, the FedEx Ground Player of the Week award goes to Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor. He ran for 94 yards and three touchdowns in the Colts 38-24 win over the Los Angeles Chargers last Sunday.

Former Bengal Willie Anderson and former Colts Reggie Wayne, Robert Mathis and Adam Vinatieri are among 52 candidates who have moved on to the next stage for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Modern Era Class of 2026. The Hall will whittle its list of nominees down to 25 semifinalists later this fall.

Wednesday was the second day of testing at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for drivers with the NTT IndyCar Series. Among them was Takuma Sato, who is not locked down for a ride next year in the Indianapolis 500, but he told the press he’d love to be back for another go at a third win in the race. Sato turns 49 next year. Alexander Rossi and Pato O’Ward were some of the other drivers taking part in the test.
