RISING SUN – The trial of a woman accused of murdering her ex-husband is scheduled for mid-October.

Danielle Marie Green, 42, of Hartford Pike, was arrested last month after police found the body of her ex-husband in a metal box on the property in rural Ohio County.

Prosecutors say she had admitted to investigators that did kill her ex, but allegedly claimed it was in self-defense.

She allegedly shot her ex-husband ten times, after finding a loaded handgun on a nightstand next to her ex-husband sleeping in bed on the morning of Monday, May 26. She told police he woke up and threatened to kill her.

Her trial is set for Tuesday, October 14.

Defense attorneys have previously considered raising the battered spouse defense, the Dearborn County Register reported.
