Reds deal Simon to Detroit; Latos to Miami

Sources say the Reds have made a trade that sends pitcher Mat Latos to the Miami Marlins.

Cincinnati receives pitcher Anthony DeSclafani and catcher Chad Wallach.

The team front office has not confirmed the trade.

CINCINNATI – The Cincinnati Reds have traded starting pitcher Alfredo Simon to the Detroit Tigers in exchange for two players.

Simon filled a void in the starting rotation starting 32 games in 2014 posting a 15-10 record and 3.44 ERA.

The Reds receives minor league pitcher Johnathon Crawford and shortstop Eugenio Suarez.

Cincinnati has been rumored Thursday to be involved in more than one potential trade, including a speculated deal to send pitcher Mat Latos to the Miami Marlins.
