New Aurora Police Chief Sworn In

Aurora’s acting police chief became permanent this week. Joshua Daugherty, 39, was sworn in following his appointment by Aurora Mayor Donnie Hastings.

According to the Dearborn County Register, Daugherty has been with the Aurora Police Department since July 2001. The 1992 Rising Sun High School graduate became interim police chief last month following the arrest of former chief Bryan Fields.

Daugherty is now in charge of a department that employs ten law enforcement officers and three dispatchers.
