Mr. Frederick O. “Fred” Poss

Mr. Frederick O. “Fred” Poss, age 75, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on March 17, 1941, in Chicago, Illinois, the loving son of the late, Phillip and Myrtle (Muetz) Poss. He was raised in Chicago, Illinois where he was a 1959 graduate of the Taft High School. Fred was inducted into the United States Marine Corp. and was honorably discharged. Fred was united in marriage on February 26, 2004, in Chicago, Illinois, to Bonnie J. (Davidson) Baur. Fred and Bonnie shared nearly 13 years of marriage together until his death. Fred was a former fire fighter for the city of Chicago, retiring in 2003, after 33 years of service. He was of the Lutheran faith and held membership at a Lutheran church in Chicago, Illinois. Fred enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, boating and camping. Fred will be deeply missed by his loving family and friends. Fred passed away at 2:10 am, Tuesday, January 24, 2017, at The Water’s of Dillsboro in Dillsboro, Indiana.

Fred will be dearly missed by his loving wife of nearly 13 years: Bonnie J. (Davidson) Baur of Vevay, IN; his children: Debbie Hernandez of Chicago, IL, Tammy Graf of Chicago, IL, Jana Smith of Ghent, KY, Christine Sturgill of Chicago, IL, Aaron Poss of TN, Kelly Ann Poss of Chicago, IL and Carrie Poss of Chicago, IL; his 15-grandchildren and 3-great-grandchildren and his sisters: Pat Szady of Chicago, IL and Judy Burkland of Madison, WI.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Phillip and Myrtle (Muetz) Poss and his brother: George Poss.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, January 28, 2017, at 1:00 pm, by Rev. Mike Jones at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Graveside Services and Interment will be conducted at 10:00 am, Monday, January 30, 2017, Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Madison, Indiana
