Local emergency officials will join together for a disaster drill on Wednesday.
Among the agencies participating, the training session will feature representatives from local fire and police departments, the Ripley County Emergency Management Agency and Margaret Mary Health.
The exercise will feature a weather event causing a chemical release. The mock disaster will allow agencies to develop an internal plan and also work with other agencies to better understand how best to handle the situation in the case the event would occur.
It is being held at Hillenbrand Industries in Batesville.
