Franklin County Schools Improve Accountabilty Rating

Local school corporations had been anticipating the “official” release of the 2012-13 A-F Accountability Grades from the Indiana Department of Education since October.

Schools received preliminary data in early October, but have been waiting for grades to be official.

According to the Franklin County Observer, Franklin County did better than some projected when their received their official results.

Franklin County High School received a “B”. High school ratings are based on graduation rates, and college and career readiness data.

Brookville Elementary received an “A”. Elementary and middle school grades are determined on ISTEP results.

Compared to a “D” in 2011-2012, the school corporation saw an improvement leading to a letter grade of “B” for 2012-13.

Recently, two fifth grade students at Brookville Elementary were honored at a board meeting for receiving a perfect score in Math on the 2013 ISTEP test. Cole Rapp and Alajah Lohrey we recognized o by Superintendent Debbie Howell and the Franklin County School Board of Trustees.
