Bulldogs Baseball Team Drops EIAC Games

BaseballThe Batesville Bulldogs fall to South Dearborn 6-4.

Zach Britton all he could to give the Batesville Bulldogs a boost, but it wasn’t enough to get past South Dearborn , as the Batesville Bulldogs lost 6-4 in seven innings on Tuesday.

Britton had two extra-base hits for the Batesville Bulldogs. He doubled in the first inning and tripled in the third inning.

Smith got the win for South Dearborn . He allowed four runs over seven innings. Smith struck out eight, walked one and gave up five hits.

South Dearborn was sparked by Rudisell and Smith, who teamed up for four hits and two RBIs.

Jacob Wilson as charged with the loss. He allowed six runs in 5 1/3 innings, walked six and struck out four.

The top of the first saw the Batesville Bulldogs take an early lead, 3-0. A double by Britton, bringing home Trey Heidlage started the inning off. The Batesville Bulldogs then tacked on more runs when Britton and Belter scored on a two-run single by Zack Blomer.

South Dearborn went up for good in the third, scoring one run on an RBI single by Smith.

The Batesville Bulldogs lose 8-4 to Lawrenceburg.

Jacob Wilson went 2-3 and hit a home run, but the Batesville Bulldogs still fell to Lawrenceburg 8-4 in seven innings on Thursday.

Two of the Batesville Bulldogs’ runs were scored thanks to timely hitting by Jacob Wilson. He homered in the first inning and singled in the fourth inning.

Houze recorded the win for Lawrenceburg . He allowed four runs over four innings. Houze struck out five, walked four and gave up five hits.

Lawrenceburg ‘s Murphy, Woeste and Helton combined for six hits and five RBIs.

Leo Enneking ook the loss for the Batesville Bulldogs. He allowed eight runs in 4 2/3 innings, walked four and struck out four.

Lawrenceburg closer Lang put away the final nine outs to record the save.

In the top of the first, Lawrenceburg grabbed the early lead, 1-0. Houze started the rally for Lawrenceburg with a single. A single by Woeste then moved Houze from first to second.

The Batesville Bulldogs answered Lawrenceburg ‘s top inning with one run of their own in the first. The Batesville Bulldogs scored on a solo home run by Jacob Wilson.

The lead stayed with Lawrenceburg after the third, when it scored six runs on a fielder’s choice and three singles. The Bulldogs came as close as 7-4 in the fifth, but could never make it all the way back.
