Water issues plague Central Indiana community

Morgantown, IN – It will be a Christmas the residents of a Morgan County community would like to forget.

A large water main break is to blame for people in Morgantown being without water since Christmas Eve.

Residents who have been affected say the stress of not having water readily available, plus the cold temperatures, have made the past couple of days really difficult.

Some residents say they have gotten a bit of water but almost instantly dump it due to it looking so bad.

While crews have been working on getting water service back. town council members have been getting an earful on social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter.

Most of the comments are directed at members who say resident say knew this could happen but did nothing to prevent it.

As of late Monday, water repairs have been done for some of the residents to get water into their homes and businesses, but local officials spent a good portion of the day Tuesday distributing bottled water.

How long that will continue has not been determined.
