Two students donate earnings to Heritage Project

Sunman, IN — St. Nicholas Schools is recognizing the hard work and service of two of their students. Jack Hartman, a second-grader, and Will Hartman, a fourth-grader, spent their summer selling produce and flowers. After working all summer to raise the money, they were asked what they were going to do with it. They both said, “Donate it to Phase 2 for the school.”

On Tuesday, October 27, the boys came to present $310 to the parish to go towards Phase 2 of the Heritage Project. Phase 2 will include a new gym, cafeteria, and playground when complete. Phase 1, a new education center, was completed in August of 2019. It currently houses 150 students in grades K – 8.

“Our mission is to build saints and scholars. Will and Jack are wonderful examples of God’s call to be of service to others, and we are very proud of them. They definitely are living our mission!”, commented Sherri Kirschner, principal of St. Nicholas School.
