Two arrested after high-speed interstate chase in Greensburg

GREENSBURG, IN — Two people from Ft. Wayne were arrested following a high-speed chase on I-74 at the 132-mile marker in Greensburg that began shortly before 1 am Monday.

Greensburg Police say an officer tried to pull over a vehicle that was reported stolen from Ft. Wayne when the driver sped up and the pursuit was initiated.

Speeds were clocked at over 125 miles per hour on the interstate.

Stop sticks were deployed at two different locations during the pursuit and were effective in deflating the vehicle’s tires.

A Shelby County Sheriff’s deputy was then able to maneuver the vehicle into a stop at the I-74 Exit 113 exit ramp.

The driver, Alexis Houston, and her passenger, Clinton Garrett were both arrested and booked into the Decatur County Jail.

Houston was charged with Possession of Stolen Property, Resisting Law Enforcement, Operating Without Ever Obtaining a License, and Reckless Driving.

Garrett was charged with Possession of Stolen Property and Resisting Law Enforcement.
