Putnam County, IN — Hazardous waste shipments from the New Palestine, Ohio train derailment into Indiana have resumed.

The latest shipments to a landfill in Putnam County came earlier this week after third-party testing was conducted on the materials.

Test results from Pace Labs indicate there were no dangerous levels of dioxins in the waste.

Governor Eric Holcomb says testing will be conducted on future shipments.

A Norfolk Southern train carrying toxic chemicals derailed in New Palestine on February 3, which ignited a fire that covered the Eastern Ohio town.
