The National Weather Service has now confirmed that an EF0 tornado touched down on Monday night in Franklin County.
The tornado touched down in Brookville at around 9:44 p.m. Monday and lasted about two minutes with an estimated wind speed of 75 miles per hour. The tornado began along a wooded area west of Holland Road and south of Oxford Pike before continuing northeast and remaining west on Holland Road.
In addition to damage at the Stenger Farm and another nearby barn, tree damage was observed along with tornadic swirls within crops in neighboring fields. Power lines were also brought down, temporarily closing down the intersection of Oxford Pike and Holland Road.
