Many Indiana chocolatiers and candy makers have been around for decades delivering products across the state and for some, around the country.

“These family-owned businesses are expanding the footprint of Indiana by gaining national recognition,” said Misty Weisensteiner, director of Indiana Office of Tourism Development. “The accolades are quite impressive and help to put the Hoosier State on the map.”

DeBrand Fine Chocolates is based in Fort Wayne and has five retail shops, including one in Indianapolis. The company says it only uses the highest quality ingredients, from imported Belgian, Swiss and other chocolates to fresh local ingredients. Schimpff’s Confectionery in Jeffersonville is one of the oldest, continuously operated, family-owned candy businesses in the United States.
