(Indianapolis/Brookville, IN) – The Indiana Supreme Court has denied further appeals of Gregory Guilfoyle’s convictions.

Guilfoyle was found guilty by a Franklin County jury in April 2025 of Attempted Murder and Neglect of a Dependent in connection with an incident in December 2022, in which he was accused of shooting his wife in the head at their home, and then a sheriff’s deputy while walking during a blizzard in the area of State Road 1 and U.S. 52 near Cedar Grove while holding his infant daughter.

His convictions were upheld by the Indiana Court of Appeals on March 6, 2026.

In its 28-page opinion, the Court ruled the jury did not err by rejecting Guilfoyle’s insanity defense, but concluded that his 100-year prison sentence should be reduced to 80 years.

Guilfoyle attempted to receive further consideration of his appeal by the state Supreme Court through a Petition of Transfer.

That was recently denied by the High Court, which means the Court of Appeals decision was certified, and that his convictions on both counts plus the 80-year sentence will remain intact.

His wife Hannah recovered from her injuries; neither Franklin County Sheriff’s Deputy Arin Bowers nor the child were harmed in the series of events, which took place a few days before Christmas 2022.
