SWITZERLAND COUNTY, Ind. – State Police are warning residents to keep their home and car doors locked after a recent series of thefts in the Five Points area of western Switzerland County.
Deputies say a car and pickup truck was stolen from Little Doe Run on September 20. The car was driven into a fire pit and the truck was apparently taken for a joy ride and was left at the end of the driveway with front end damage.
Later the same day, police say a suspect or suspects attempted to break into a home on Vineyard Road but was unsuccessful.
On September 22, several items were stolen from a home on Little Doe Run.
Police urge residents to keep their homes and vehicles secure and report any suspicious activity to the Indiana State Police or Switzerland County Sheriff’s Department.
