Oldenburg Academy blanked South Ripley 2-nil in boys soccer sectional play at Jac-Cen-Del. Connor Holder scored both of the Twisters goals. OA will play for the sectional crown on Saturday afternoon.
Batesville got past Franklin County 1-nil in girls soccer sectional action at Lawrenceburg. Addie Reding scored the lone goal of the match off an assist from Hailee Weisenbach. The Bulldogs advance to Saturday’s sectional title game.
Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor says Joe Flacco will start at quarterback Sunday against the Packers in Green Bay. Flacco was acquired in a trade from the Cleveland Browns after Jake Browning struggled in four games including three starts since Joe Burrow went down with a turf toe injury.
The Indianapolis Colts have signed linebacker Germaine Pratt. The 29-year-old Pratt spent most of his seven-year career with the Cincinnati Bengals, where he played for current Colts defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo from 2019-2024. The Bengals released Pratt in June, and he signed with the Las Vegas Raiders a few days later. He appeared in four games this year with the Silver and Black. Pratt did not travel with the Raiders to Indy for last Sunday’s game and was released on Monday. To make room on the roster, the Colts have placed linebacker Joe Bachie on the Injured Reserve list.
Indiana Fever center Aliyah Boston has been named to the WNBA All-Defensive Second Team for the first time in her career. The three-time All-Star finished the season fourth in the league with 361 total rebounds, which is a new Fever franchise record. Boston also tallied 17 double-doubles, the most in a single season for the franchise, and became the fastest Fever player to hit 1,000 career rebounds. Boston is the first Fever player since 2017 to receive WNBA All-Defensive honors.
