The Batesville girls’ golf team and East Central junior Rowan Pies are headed to this weekend’s state finals. The Bulldogs finished second as a team, and Pies took medalist honors at Monday’s weather-delayed Franklin regional. The host Grizzly Cubs finished first with a team score of 319, followed by the Bulldogs at 321. Center Grove shot a 327 as a team to claim third place. Pies carded a 68 to take the top spot, while Batesville’s Ava South shot an individual score of 72 and came in third. As a team, East Central finished in 10th place at 404, and Greensburg came in 13th at 455. Franklin County’s Annie Hoff shot a 94 while teammate Audrey Mears carded a 107.

In varsity volleyball, Oldenburg Academy downed North Decatur three sets to one. The Twisters improve to 16-7 on the season. And it was South Decatur over Jac-Cen-Del in three sets – 25-6, 25-19, 25-15.

Batesville boys’ tennis defeated Trinity Lutheran 3-2. The Bulldogs picked up wins in #2 and #3 singles and #2 doubles. Batesville finishes the regular season at 10-10.

Oldenburg Academy pitcher Jacob Stenger has committed to continuing his academic and athletic career at Earlham College in Richmond. The right hander will pitch his final season for the Twisters in spring 2025.

Batesville entertains Columbus North in girls’ soccer this evening. Coverage begins at 7:00 on WRBI.

Cincinnati Reds fans and the baseball world is mourning the death of Pete Rose. Baseball’s hit king was a Cincinnati native and Western Hills High School graduate. Rose died Monday at his home in Las Vegas at the age of 83.

On Monday Night Football, the Tennessee Titans beat the Miami Dolphins 31-12, and it was the Detroit Lions over the Seattle Seahawks 42-29.
