Growing up, Sheila cherished spending her summers in Napoleon with her beloved Aunt Wilma and Uncle Lawrence Gray, creating memories that she carried with her throughout her life.
On September 24, 1965, Sheila married the love of her life, John Edward Huegel, in Las Vegas. Together they shared a beautiful marriage filled with love, laughter, and adventure. In their younger years, Sheila and John loved going camping together, and once they started their family, they continued the tradition by taking their children, Charisma and John Beau, on camping trips with them. As the years went on, they enjoyed attending Cushman scooter conventions together and spending quality time in the living room watching the Indianapolis Colts play. Peyton Manning was always Sheila’s favorite.
Throughout her life, Sheila was known for her hardworking spirit. She worked at Greensburg Daily News, Valeo, 3 and 46, Big Jon’s Truck Stop, and also worked as a server at Frisch’s Big Boy, where her kindness and warm personality left lasting impressions on many.
A devoted member of Bethel Apostolic Church, Sheila cherished attending church on Sundays with her daughter and grandchildren. After church, some of her favorite moments were spent enjoying lunch with family, eating one of John’s home-cooked meals, watching NASCAR races, and cuddling her grandchildren to sleep.
Sheila found joy in life’s little adventures. On Thursdays, she and John could often be found at Maddox Auction, spending time together searching through auctions, thrift stores, and flea markets — one of their favorite pastimes. She also loved driving around town with her grandchildren, sharing stories about her family history and teaching them.
Sheila is survived by her husband, John Huegel; daughter, Charisma Parker; son, Beau Huegel; granddaughters, Kyleigh Billingsley, Charleigh Parker and Johneigh Huegel; grandsons, Dalton Parker and Blaiz Huegel, and four great-grandsons. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nathan Gray and Florence (Combs) Gray.
