(Versailles, IN) – An autopsy on 18-year-old Carson Hughes of Osgood was completed Monday, and the preliminary cause of death was determined to be probable cold-water drowning.

The Indiana Department of Natural Resources says there was no other evidence of injury present.

The final autopsy report and cause of death are pending toxicology results.

Hughes went missing Friday afternoon at Versailles State Park. His body was found in six feet of water Sunday night in the park’s lake.

Meanwhile, his work as a photographer is being noted in various ways. Hughes won a competition sponsored by the Indiana State Dept. of Agriculture last year for his photo “Wild Connections,” which is hanging in the Lt. Gov.’s business offices at the Statehouse (pictured).
