(Greensburg, IN) – Mayor Joshua Marsh and Greensburg/Decatur County Economic Development Director Bryan Robbins recently concluded a trade Mission to Japan.

The visit was led by the South Central Indiana Economic Development Group (SCIED) and included city and economic development representatives from One Southern Indiana, Columbus and Bartholomew County, Jennings County, Seymour, and Jackson County.

SCIED is a regional partnership available to provide specialized knowledge and assistance for companies and site selection consultants, of which Decatur County is a member.

The trip marks the first time in 15 years since Greensburg leaders have been to Japan on a trade mission. During the weeklong trip, the Greensburg representatives met with leaders at plant locations for NIPRO (pictured), GECOM, Honda, and Resonac Powdered Metals America, Inc. to discuss the ongoing economic relationship between the Greensburg/Decatur County community and Japan and new potential opportunities for growth.

“Our friendship with Japan is more than just business—it’s a shared journey built on respect and common goals,” said Mayor Marsh. “To keep this bond strong, we must talk openly and continue to work together. By focusing on quality and innovation, we not only support our economic ties but also show our commitment to excellence in manufacturing and industry. Let’s use diplomacy to build bridges and face challenges together, ensuring that our continued relationship with Japan is a story of cooperation, respect, and a brighter future for all.”
