Marlene F. Greiwe

Marlene F. Greiwe, age 86 of Batesville, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at the St. Elizabeth Select Specialty Hospital in Fort Thomas, Kentucky.  Born December 10, 1937, in Batesville, she is the daughter of Anthony and Anna (Nee: Raver) Federle.  She married Joseph Greiwe on May 4, 1957, at St. Louis Catholic Church in Batesville.  Marlene was a homemaker and a member of St. Louis Catholic Church and its ladies society.

Marlene enjoyed camping, quilting, and spending time with family and friends. She loved baking and her specialties were homemade pumpkin pie, chocolate chip cookies and coffee cake. She was a member of the Knights of St. John ladies auxiliary and was chair of the St. Louis Church bereavement committee for many years.

When her children were young the family spent most weekends camping. After Joe retired, they went to tool collector shows as well as traveled the world. Marlene was an avid shopper and it was not uncommon for her and her girls to spend 12 hours at the mall.

She enjoyed playing cards with her friends and was a member of her card club for over 60 years. She loved watching Indiana University basketball games and always had a favorite player on the team. She liked going to her children’s, grandchildren’s, and great-grandchildren’s activities.

She is survived by her husband Joseph of Batesville; daughters Bev (Dennis) Roell, Cindy (Dale) Enneking, and Amy (Mike) Weigel, all of Batesville; sons Bryan (Krista) Greiwe of Batesville and Jeff (Gwen) Greiwe of Williamsburg, Ohio; sister Joann Holzer of Mount Juliet, Tennessee; grandchildren Bradley Roell, Laura Padgett, Michelle Greiwe, Katherine Vodzak, Joel and Nathan Enneking, Ella, Owen, and Nora Greiwe, Molly and Audrey Weigel; great-grandchildren Aiden Greiwe, Calvin, Isla, and Brooks Padgett.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Charles Greiwe, sister Ruth Gehl and brothers Howard, Paul, Carl, and Ralph Federle.

Visitation is Friday, March 22nd, from 9 – 11:30 a.m., at Weigel Funeral Home in Batesville.  A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:45 a.m., at St. Louis Catholic Church in Batesville, with Fr.
