Letitia L. (Rhoades) Hopping, 90, of Shelbyville, Indiana, formerly of Aurora, Indiana, passed away Wednesday December 2, 2020 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
She was born July 8, 1930 in Columbus, IN, daughter of the late Cecil Allen Rhoades and Emma Maude (Wesner) Roegge.
Letitia worked as an Elementary School Teacher in Dillsboro, retiring after over 25 years of service.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Aurora, where she was a vocalist in the choir. Letitia was a member of Tri Kappa Sorority, and a Docent at Hill Forest, where she was very instrumental in helping with costumes for events for many years. Letitia enjoyed sewing, knitting and quilting. She loved to help make items for children in the hospital. She was also a member of the Rivertown Quilters Guild, the Bridge Club and Community Choruses. She was very social and enjoyed time with friends and family.
Letitia is survived by her children, Kenneth A. Hopping of Belleve, WA, Paul N. (Jane) Hopping of Clinton, TN, Laura Hopping (Randy) Jobe of Shelbyville, IN, and James B. (Sylvia) Hopping of Noblesville, IN; grandchildren, Ethan Hopping, Jennifer (Kirk) Crafton, Lauren (Bryant) Sell, Ryan Jobe, Melissa (Ben) Wilkes and David Showers; great-grandchildren, Clark Crafton, Abigail Wilkes, Zoe Wilkes, Chloe Wilkes, Benny Wilkes and one on the way.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Albert G. “Red” Hopping; and brother, Kenneth Rhoades.
Friends will be received Wednesday, December 9, 2020, 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm at the First Presbyterian Church, 215 Fourth Street, Aurora, Indiana.
Services will be held at the Church, at 2:00 pm with Rev. Dawne Sarchet officiating.
