If you only saw the final score from our girls basketball broadcast Wednesday in Osgood, you wouldn’t have thought it was much of a game.  But for one half, it certainly was.

Hauser and Jac-Cen-Del were tied at 25 through the first 16 minutes after exchanging six leads and tying five times.  But the second half was all JCD as the Eagles outscored the Jets, 40-15 to win by a count of 65-40.

Hauser’s Madelyn Poe and Adrianna Musillami combined for 18 points in the first half.  They were held to just three in the second half.  Poe finished with 14 and Musillami closed with seven.

For Jac-Cen-Del, Jalee Rider and Desiree Sparks teamed for 13 points in the first half but then, collectively, added 23 more in the second half.  Rider had a game-high 19 points and Sparks was right behind her with 17.  Teammates Aundrea Cullen and Annabelle Williams followed with 10 each.

With the exception of three-point shooting, the Eagles had substantial improvements in the second half in every other statistical category.

For the game JCD hit 40 percent from the field and held Hauser to 28.  The Eagles also outscored the Jets 17-5 at the charity stripe.

Hauser won the JV game 49-38 led by a 20-point effort from Nora Berkenstock.  Hanna Foster and Bella Kilps added nine each.  The Eagles got nine points from Kelsey Borgman and six from Julia Meyer.

We thank coaches Scott Smith of Jac-Cen-Del and Chad Evans of Hauser for their information and time in our pregame show. We also thank JCD AD Kate Todd for the accommodations and hospitality.
