James E. “Jim” Fannin 70, of Aurora, Indiana, formerly of Portsmouth, OH, passed away Thursday July 23, 2020 in Cincinnati, Ohio.
He was born April 23, 1950 in Portsmouth, OH, son of the late Asa Fannin and Juanita (Monk) Fannin.
James was a proud veteran and very patriotic. He served his country for 20 years in the Navy. He served on the USS Holland and was a Chief Petty Officer E7. He enjoyed working outside, messing around clearing brush on his John Deere Tractor. He loved to fish, surf the internet, (especially, You Tube). James was a simple man, he loved to spend time at home with a cup of coffee, with family and his dog Otis. He will be sadly missed.
James is survived by his loving spouse of almost 10 years Amanda Fannin (Mullins), children, Michelle ” Shelly” (James) Gunnell, Christopher Fannin, Scott (Holly) Morgan, Nicole Morgan (Frank Wagner), Stephanie (Justin) Rister, Cathy Fannin (Mark McCorkle) , Victoria Fannin (Dalton Kritzwiser) , Michelle Mullins, Michael (Jessica) Watson, Jonathon (Kayla) Tabar; siblings, Margaret (Dick) Dulaney, Ramona Jerrell, Steve (Debbie) Fannin, Danny (Liza) Fannin, Marvin (Lan) Fannin Bill (Carol) Fannin; sister-in-law, Crystal Brashears (husband, Daniel nRaggard); many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by Father, Asa Fannin, Mother, Juanita (Monk) Fannin, Brothers, Jamie & John Fannin, Sisters, Susie & Bonnie Fannin.
Friends will be received, Thursday, July 30, 2020, 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm at the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1415 North Gate Road, Madison, Indiana.
Services will be held at Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Thursday at 1:00 pm, following visitation.
Interment will follow in the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Madison, Indiana. Military graveside services will be conducted by members of local Veterans Service Organizations.
