Indiana filing multiple lawsuits against federal COVID-19 vaccine mandates

Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita

INDIANAPOLIS, IN — The State of Indiana is filing multiple lawsuits against President Biden’s federal COVID-19 vaccine mandates.

Attorney General Todd Rokita plans to sue to stop the rules instituted by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) that would require companies with 100 or more employees to be vaccinated against the virus by January 4 or get tested weekly.

Employers who do not comply could be fined up to $14,000 for each violation.

Rokita said the order oversteps the President’s authority.

Governor Eric Holcomb said he supports getting the shot but adds the order will bring about harmful, unintended consequences in the supply chain and the workforce.

The Governor said the state is also planning to challenge the order that federal contractors, hospital employees, and nursing home workers get vaccinated.

Holcomb says he cannot support a mandate that could cost people their jobs.
