Imogene C. (Jeanie) Hermesch, 84

Imogene C. (Jeanie) Hermesch was born on October 14, 1936 in Ripley County. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She was the daughter of Eugene and Cora Tebbe Becker. Jeanie graduated from Batesville High School in 1954. She married Donald C. Hermesch on February 11, 1956 in Batesville, Indiana. She was a member of St. Mary’s Church.
Jeanie is survived by her husband, son Gerald (Diana) Hermesch and daughters, Donna (Jeff) Hay, and Shari (Paul) Scheidler, all of Greensburg. She is survived by one brother, Kenneth (Thelma) Becker, Indianapolis. She is also survived by 7 Grandchildren, Melinda (Scott) Werner, Noblesville, Chris (Danielle) Hermesch, Greensburg, Julie (David) Jackson, Noblesville, Laura (Jason) Glenn, Greenfield, Scott Wenning, Indianapolis, Bradley Scheidler, Greensburg and Kaitlynn (Ben) Meadows, Greensburg. She also has 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Jerry Becker.
She enjoyed her Wednesday afternoon bowling league and was a member of a Euchre card party for many years and enjoyed going to the Adult Center to play cards. She looked forward to dancing on Saturday night and loved dancing to the Big Band Music. She and Don would travel to the Eagle’s in Batesville, Greensburg and went to St. Leon in New Alsace as well as many other dance venues. If they were not going dancing they would get together with family and friends to play her favorite card games of Solo, Five Hundred and Euchre.
She especially liked getting together with her family on Sunday during the summer for cookouts and swimming with her grandchildren. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and went to their many school functions and sporting events. Jeanie was a big IU fan and would try to watch all their basketball games. She would be often teased about cheering for the wrong team.
Jeanie was devoted to her family and was an excellent cook. We have special memories of her cream cheese pies and fudge at Christmas. She enjoyed sewing, plastic canvas and doing crafts. She also made wedding flowers for her granddaughters and grandson when they were married.
There will be a private Funeral Service for the family. In lieu of flowers, we kindly ask any donations be made to the St. Mary’s Catholic Church or the American Heart Association.
