Lawrenceburg, In. — An Aurora woman charged with numerous drug charges including receiving mail shipments of marijuana from her son in California has pled guilty in Dearborn Superior Court II.
Debra Ferguson, 59, of Aurora pled guilty to one count of Possession of Methamphetamine and one count of Corrupt Business Influence after law enforcement received a call from a concerned citizen about Ferguson receiving mail shipments of marijuana on a regular basis.
The information the concerned citizen gave law enforcement lead them to Ferguson and her son, Eric Anderson who lives in Yuba County, California. After an investigation was opened on this case, The United States Postal Service assisted Aurora Police in their investigation by conducting a controlled delivery of a package containing 720 grams of marijuana addressed to “Grandma Stinky” at her address on Fifth Street in Aurora, Dearborn County.
After the delivery was conducted, a search warrant was issued for Ferguson’s residence where “Officers obtained numerous narcotic prescription medications that we’re packaged for delivery, multiple packages of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, packaging supplies, cell phones and an undisclosed amount of cash”, according to Josh Daughtery, Aurora Police Chief.
Ferguson was sentenced to 6 years with the Indiana Department of Corrections after pleading open to the Honorable Judge Sally McLaughlin in Dearborn Superior Court II.
Ferguson’s son, Eric Anderson, a resident of Marysville, California pled guilty to Corrupt Business Influence, a Level 5 Felony on November 1, 2018. He received a six (6) year suspended sentence to probation.
