(Greensburg, IN) -The Hospital Foundation of Decatur County (Foundation) has raised more than $34,000 so far in 2025 to help provide life-saving breast cancer screenings for local women.

These funds, directed to the Pink Ribbon Fund, cover the cost of mammograms for uninsured or underinsured patients at Decatur County Memorial Hospital (DCMH).

To continue supporting this important cause, the community is invited to attend upcoming Pink Out Dine to Donate events and awareness days throughout the week of October 27–31, with proceeds benefiting the Pink Ribbon Fund:

 Oct. 27: Culver’s, 5–8 p.m.
 Oct. 28: Pizza King, 4–9 p.m.
 Oct. 29: Countywide Pink Out Day, wear pink and share your photos online with #dcmhpinkout
 Oct. 29: The Branch, 7–11 a.m.
 Oct. 29: Tree City Brew, 11 a.m.–9 p.m.
 Oct. 30: El Chile Poblano, 4–8 p.m.
 Oct. 31: Cornerstone Bakery and Bistro, 12–2 p.m.

“Every woman in our community deserves access to preventive screenings,” said Rex McKinney, President and CEO of DCMH. “The generosity of our community through the Pink Ribbon Fund ensures that cost does not prevent someone from receiving the care they need.”

Breast cancer remains one of the most common health concerns for women; 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed in her lifetime. However, when detected early, it is highly treatable. DCMH’s 3D digital mammography detects up to 40% more cancers than traditional 2D technology, offering the best chance for early detection and successful treatment.

The Pink Ribbon Fund is made possible by community-driven events, including Tee Off ‘Fore’ Ta-Tas, Pink Out games, Pink Out Dine to Donate, and Countywide Pink Out Day.

Thanks to the Foundation and DCMH’s Financial Assistance Program, women who qualify can receive help covering the cost of annual mammograms.

“By providing access, funding, and awareness, we’re helping ensure that every woman has the opportunity to care for herself and catch potential issues early,” said Amanda Schutte, DCMH Radiology Director.
