Cheryl Sue Linville, 74

The Lord welcomed home Cheryl Sue (Pleak) Linville on Friday, May 26, 2023. This firecracker baby was born to Walter and Freda (Volz) Pleak on July 1, 1948.  She was preceded in death by her loving parents and older brother, Walter Eugene Jr. Her brother Richard A. (Terri) Pleak survives.

Cheryl was a graduate of Greensburg Community High School. She received her bachelor’s degree in Interior Design from her beloved alma mater, Indiana State University. She relished in sharing memories about her trip to Europe in 1969 with her professor Dr. Ann Lee. It was on this trip that she purchased the Italian frescoes that she would later have installed in her own custom kitchen. Cheryl treasured being a professional interior designer. She loved serving customers at Pleak’s Do It Center, which opened its doors when she was ten years old.

On the hot day of July 8, 1978, she married Roscoe D. (Rock) Linville, and he survives. She blessed Rock for forty-four years with her love and friendship. Together, they filled their lives with two children, Alex Linville and Sonja (JD) Kolkmeier, who she supported and loved wholeheartedly. Cheryl never missed a chance to support her children at ball games, meets, or concerts. If you didn’t see her, you knew she was there by her positive encouragement and her cow bell!

Cheryl lived a life of joy. She enjoyed traveling to her beloved Minnesota annually, taking friends and family to enjoy paradise and branching out across the country with Rock on their summer trips.  She was a devout Catholic and knew the power of prayer serving in the Adoration Chapel at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greensburg.

She loved supporting her community through volunteering her time with the Fall Festival, Tri-Kappa, and Child’s Study to name a few.

Since retirement, some of her most precious memories have been formed with her four grandchildren Zuriel, James, Joel, and Jensen. Cheryl loved creating memories with her grandchildren including painting rocks from Minnesota, taking nature walks on their property, and reading special books selected just for them.

She is survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
