As heard on WRBI Saturday from Bosse Field in Evansville, North Decatur lost 4-0 to Linton-Stockton in the 2A baseball regional semifinals.

The Chargers managed just one hit off Miners pitcher Luke McDonald who struck out 10 and walked none.  The ND base hit came from Xander Jones in the second inning.

North Decatur had a few other base runners as Linton committed four errors, but the locals could not take advantage of those opportunities.  ND’s best chances to score were with two on and one out in the third and when Ty Litmer reached third base with two outs in the seventh.

Linton scored twice in the first on a two-out, two-RBI single by McDonald.  The Miners other two runs came in the fourth on a sacrifice fly by Jamison Fields and a wild pitch.

The Chargers season ends with their second sectional championship in program history and a record of 14-11.  Linton-Stockton went on to upset No. 8 Forest Park 5-4 to win its first ever regional title.
