The Batesville Boys Cross Country team traveled to Connersville Tuesday night for Connersville’s Annual Invite.
Batesville’s top 5 did a good job and brought home a second place trophy. Scoring for Batesville were Cole Nuhring who came in third, Caleb Moster who came in fourth and Connor Bell who came in fifth. Also scoring were Chris Riffle who got the eighteenth spot and rounding out the scoring was Elliot Main who came in 39th.
This brought Batesville’s score to a total of 69 and this followed Hagerstown’s 32. Rounding out the top 3 was Connersville with 98.
The boys will be back in action Saturday at the Southport Invite.
The Batesville Lady Cross Country team took on 12 other teams Tuesday at the Connersville Invitational and came up just a little short placing 2nd place to a very strong Connersville team 51-59. Union County rounded off third place with 92 points.
This brings the ladies record to 52-1. The Bulldogs were led by senior, Kelsey Gausman who came in 3rd over all. Other scorers and award winners for the varsity race were Sarah Poltrack, 10th, Mary Potrack 14th, Maria Wessel 15th and Emma Gausman, 17th.
Madaleine Robben was the individual champion in the JV race. Rounding off the top 10 were Bre Hartman, 4th, Sarah Canady, 5th, Jamie Day, 9th and Mary Catherine Barnett, 10th.
The Bulldogs travel to Southport this Saturday for their next competition.
