(Batesville, IN) – Batesville Police officers raised around $2,200 during Friday’s Cop on a Rooftop fundraiser benefitting Special Olympics Indiana.
This year’s amount surpassed last year’s total, which was $2,000.
The Batesville Police Department was among 50 Indiana law enforcement agencies participating in the fundraiser.
“Cop on a Rooftop gives us a unique way to connect with our community while supporting something that truly matters,” said Assistant Chief Major Travis Cook. “Every dollar raised helps provide opportunities for Special Olympics athletes to train, compete and build confidence. As officers, we’re proud to stand behind these athletes and be part of a program that promotes inclusion, teamwork and respect across our communities.”
The fundraiser took place at the Batesville Dunkin’.
Similar events were held on Friday involving Greendale and West Harrison police officers.
