Booth pleads guilty to double murder and robbery; accepts 120 year sentence

Lawrenceburg, IN—​On Thursday afternoon, September 26th, Cody Booth, who was charged with his co-defendant, Margie Thompson, pled guilty to Conspiracy to Commit Murder of his Mother, Faith Craig, pled guilty to the Murder of his Grandfather, Walter Bryant Jr., and also to Conspiracy to Commit Robbery. These murders took place on January 17th, 2018 on Douglas Drive in Aurora. Booth accepted a plea agreement to 120 years in prison. His trial was set to begin on Monday, September 30th.

​“We were ready for the trial to begin on Monday when this plea was reached,” stated Prosecuting Attorney Lynn Deddens. “After consulting with the families of the victims, they voiced their strong approval for the plea agreement. The families of Faith Craig and Walter Bryant Jr. wanted to make sure that Booth will not be getting out of prison. This plea agreement assures them that Cody Booth will die in prison for his heinous actions.”

​ The Pronouncement of Sentence will be held on October 17th, 2019 at 1 p.m., before the Honorable James D. Humphrey of the Dearborn Circuit Court.
