Bobby Clayton Lischkge, 94, of Aurora, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, September 14, 2021 in Milan, Indiana.
He was born October 28, 1926, in Aurora, Indiana, son of the late Clayton Lischkge and Jesalina (Rogers) Lischkge.
Bobby served his country as a Corporal in the United States Army during WWII from 1945 – 1946.
He was owner/operator of Lischkge Motors in Aurora, Indiana. “home of the famous round barn”, and the oldest Mack Truck distributor in the world! He also ran a Mercury Marine Distribution and helped to build and operate the Lischkge Boat Harbor in Aurora. He drove a school bus for 18 years.
Bobby was a life time member of the First Baptist Church of Aurora since 1938 where he served as a Deacon and Trustee. He was also a member of the Aurora American Legion #51, Aurora Masonic Lodge, and Shriners Lodge of Cincinnati.
He enjoyed boating and traveling. Bobby restored boats from childhood up into his 90’s. Bobby was always involved with the Boy Scouts of America. he was a Scout Leader and led high adventure canoeing trips in Canada. Bobby was a master mechanic, machinist, craftsman and artist. He had a commercial and instrument pilots license and has owned many planes through out the years. Bobby loved to work and play and continued up until his health failed a few months ago.
Bobby is survived by his children, Dawn Perrine of Santa Margarita, CA, Lori Ann Lischkge (Bob Parker) of Moores Hill, IN, Robert (Deborah) Lischkge of Moores Hill, IN; grandchildren, Lana Marie Lischkge, Rose (Eric) Durkee, Willow Wise, and Troy Perrine; great-granddaughter, Arianna Smith.
He was preceded in death by his parents and loving wife of 63 years Theresa “Tessie” (Peters) Lischkge.
Friends will be received Thursday September 16, 2021 from 4:00-8:00 pm at the First Baptist Church, 6060 Blair road, Aurora, Indiana. Masonic services will be held at 7:30 pm. at the church.
Services will be held at the church on Friday at 11:00 am with Pastor Bill Secrest officiating.
Interment will follow in the River View Cemetery, Aurora, Indiana. Military graveside services will be conducted by the Southeastern Indiana Honor Guard.
