BMS sweeps Connersville in boys, girls cross country

The Batesville Middle School Cross Country team traveled to Connersville to take on the Spartans in a dual meet. The hilly course and heat of the day did not stop the Bulldogs from bringing home wins for both the boys’ and girls teams.

Levi Essick was the boys race champion crossing the finish line in 12:32. Cael Luhman was the next Bulldog to finish in 3rd place, Abe Trossman was 4th, Wyatt Essick was 5th, Hank Bohman 7th, Ryan Benz 8th, Jasper Johnson 9th, Luke Raver 11th, Coleman West 13th, Tripp Hertel 14th, and Lucas Gadberry 15th. The boys had a team score of 20 points to Connersville’s 43.

The ladies were once again led by 7th grader Ava Wade who was the meet champion with a time of 12:28. Also placing in the top 15 and earning ribbons were Elia Wade in 2nd place, Jayla Bedel in 3rd, Hilary Ziegler 4th, Nya Moon 5th, Caitlin Raver 6th, Rosie Gilland 7th, Maycee Holtkamp 8th, Aubrey Weberding 9th, Audrey Dieckmann 10th, Bailey Feldmann 11th, Bhuvi Rhanka 12th, Alyssa Cummings 13th, and Caroline Wiedeman in 14th. The Lady Spartans did not have a complete team.
