(Batesville, IN) – Batesville Middle School will celebrate the conclusion of its 50th academic year with an open house tomorrow (Friday) from 4 to 5 p.m.
Dave Strouse is the principal at BMS, and says assistant principal Austin Glaub has played a key role in the celebration organization.
“It’s been a lot of fun, and it’s bringing people together to talk about ‘How are we going to celebrate the 50th year,” Strouse said. “So we put a committee together. Austin Glaub kind of took over this committee, with some staff members and they put together some wonderful activities to celebrate the 50th year.”
Glaub says it’s been a labor of love.
“I attended BMS not only as a student, but I worked there for seven years as a custodian, so it’s a really special place to me. I was really excited to have this opportunity to work with this group of staff members to prepare not just our open house but all of the events we’ve had, celebrating 50 years of Batesville Middle School,” Glaub said.
Organizers say open house guests are invited to enjoy guided tours, which will connect memories of the past with descriptions of the current learning spaces.
Immediately following the open house, Batesville Middle School will hold its annual Spring Arts Festival at 5 p.m.
It will feature musical performances and visual arts displays.
Strouse, Glaub, and 6th and 7th grade Language Arts teacher Sheryl McCreary appeared on WRBI’s The Daily Pod.
