During severe storm events Batesville Fire & Rescue will relay real-time information to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, Ohio. “This is an opportunity for us to increase public safety and awareness during situations that have a direct impact on our region and beyond,” said Chief Todd Schutte. “We can’t change the path of a storm or stop it from causing destruction, but we can help save lives through the flow of information, community education and preparedness.”
Batesville Fire & Rescue weather expert Rich Corkhum will lead the effort.
