SOUTHEASTERN IN — Southeastern Indiana received a post-Easter surprise in the form of light, wet snow Monday morning.

“It was a fairly strong area of low pressure that moved across the Upper Midwest originally throughout the weekend, and as it continued to move off to the east, the main center of the low pressure was actually in the Great Lakes,” said meteorologist Nick Carlyle. “A lot of cold air wrapped in behind it. There’s plenty of moisture associated with this system as well. So it looks like it was definitely the setup for snow across the region”

Carlyle said we are in for quite the temperature swing this week.

“It looks like we’re going to be right around 50 degrees on Tuesday, hitting 60 by Wednesday, the mid-70s are expected by Friday, and potentially reaching 80 by next Saturday,” Carlyle added.
