Area Communities Receive Portion of State Road Funding

(Indianapolis, IN) – Governor Mike Braun announced $84 million in infrastructure grants to 147 cities, counties, and towns in Indiana to support local bridge and road projects, bringing the total to just over $165 million in infrastructure grants this year.

Area communities receiving funds include:

  • Brookville: $203,870.80
  • Dearborn County: $291,889.60
  • Decatur County: $491,348.23
  • Franklin County: $695,293.53
  • Ripley County: $974,285.60
  • Versailles: $50,920.80

“Indiana is the crossroads of America and Hoosiers rely on our strong roads and infrastructure to drive economic growth and strong communities,” said Gov. Braun. “I was proud to co-author the Community Crossings program when I was in the General Assembly because it encourages skin in the game from local communities and that will always generate better results.”

Cities, towns and counties submitted applications during a call for projects in October 2025. Submissions from the previous call were used to determine additional awards. Funding for Community Crossings comes from the state’s local road and bridge matching grant fund. The program has provided more than $2 billion for local road improvement projects since its inception in 2016.

Seven local cities, counties and towns were listed as additional funding recipients:

  • Batesville: $667,760.00
  • Dillsboro: $58,778.04
  • Greensburg: $282,324.22
  • Milan: $210,960.00
  • Millhousen: $67,640.32
  • Osgood: $790,433.42
  • St. Paul: $137,800.00

“The additional $75 million from the General Assembly, plus cost favorability from the initial call for projects is allowing more locals to improve transportation infrastructure in their communities,” said INDOT Commissioner Lyndsay Quist. “These projects enhance quality of life for residents and help strengthen local tourism and economic development.”

The next call for projects will open in September.
