Anna Mae Nobbe

Anna Mae Nobbe, 89, of Batesville Indiana died Sunday, November 13, 2022 at St. Andrew’s Health Campus. Born August 3, 1933 in Hamburg Indiana. She is the daughter of Harry C. and Agnus Lamping. She married Ambrose Nobbe August 17, 1955 at St. Ann’s church in Hamburg and enjoyed 67 years of a loving, happy marriage.

Anna Mae was a homemaker of many talents and hobbies. She was a gifted seamstress and quilter. She made her daughters’ prom and wedding dresses and could patch up anything. For years, she provided childcare to many close friends and family. She always seemed to come away a winner at St. Louis bingo. She was an avid “Days of Our Lives” fan and also loved doing crosswords, playing Scrabble, memory match and other card games. While her roots were in Batesville, Anna Mae enjoyed traveling the country with her husband, family and friends, with one of her favorite trips being a cruise to celebrate their 50th anniversary.

She was a gentle spirit who cared deeply for her family, and her smile could light up any room. She loved hosting holidays and always made the best mashed potatoes, fried chicken, cinnamon rolls, zucchini bread, snow ice cream and brandy slush. She took great joy in spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and she loved to support them at all their sporting events and activities. She always had fruit snacks on hand and could often be found scouring garage sales for trinkets and toys for them.

She is survived by her husband, 4 children, Diane (Rick) Allgeier of Batesville, Karen (Gary) Munchel of Oldenburg, Terry (Debbie) Nobbe of Batesville and Lisa (Tony) Gausman of Batesville, brothers Herb Lamping of Batesville, Rick Lamping of Fishers, Steve Lamping of West Harrison, sister Julianne Raver of Batesville, 14 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her parents, her son Mark, her sisters Mary Catherine Lamping, Bernice Menkedick, and Thelma Grossman Litmer.

Visitation is Wednesday, November 16th, from 4 – 7 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home.  Funeral services are 10 a.m. Thursday, November 17th at St. Louis Church with Rev. Stan Pondo officiating and burial in the church cemetery.  The family requests memorials to St. Louis School or the St. Andrew’s Activity Fund.
